Bob Katz is one of the best-known and acknowledged mastering engineers in the USA. He has mastered several Grammy awared-winning albums and is highly regarded by audiophiles and colleagues from the industry. Katz is the author of the book ‘Mastering Audio – The Art and the Science’, which has been reviewed by some as the definitive work on mastering.

Topics will include:

• calibrating monitor (speaker) -systems
• the ‘loudness race’ in music
• audio mastering software (with special focus on the high definition digital audio workstation, Sequoia 11)
• audio mastering hardware (with special focus on TC 6000 and the BMC-2 interface)
• tips and tricks on the use of hard- and software
• during the workshop several music and audio samples will be used

These workshops are organized by SAE Institute in partnership with:
Focal Press, TC Electronic, and Magix.
